Other job duties:
- Develop a strategy for an efficient diffusion of information to the relevant end-users.
- Assist in clarifying additional proposed outcomes and activities and oversee calibration, replacement and faultfinding of meteorological sensors.
- Contribute to Agrometeorology research activities and prepare and write reports.
Qualifications:
- Advanced University degree in Agriculture, Meteorology or with subsequent specialization in Agricultural Meteorology.
- M.S. in Agronomy/Agrometeorology, Agriculture, Environmental Studies or closely related fields.
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive and relevant experience in the field of agrometeorology.
- Technical knowledge of the implications of climate change on agriculture is critical.
- Experience in development of early warning systems for agriculture.
- Experience in erecting and maintaining weather stations or equivalent maintenance and calibration of sensors.
- Experience in developing a platform for the exchange of agrometeorological information.
- Experience in working and collaborating with government mandated weather departments is an asset.
- Experience in coastal adaptation and/or disaster risk reduction is an asset.
