Chef Job Openings at Paleo Manila

Paleo Manila is hiring a chef to develop new dishes and culinary procedures.

Other job duties:
  • Assist in the planning, developing, and costing of new recipes/products
  • Assist in the new product and food trend research
  • Execute product presentation and sampling
  • Conduct product testing
  • Estimate food preparation amounts and adjust recipes, if required, for the purpose of meeting projected meal requirements and minimizing waste of food items
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of the product and compliance with standard processes in various stages of production
  • Examine daily work processes and products to determine completeness and conformation to quality standards
  • Monitor staff compliance with standard operating procedures, policies and quality standards
  • Coordinate with HR in the training, recruitment, and evaluation of kitchen staff
  • Assist in supervision and evaluation of food service staff
  • Assist and coordinate with different departments to resolve internal and external issues, such as complaints

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts or its equivalent
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Exceptional Culinary skills and a flair for food quality; flavor, recipe development, portion, plating, garnish, innovation, well versed on upscale casual trends/market
  • Food-based menu planning, proper food combinations, and economic food substitutes
  • Proper methods and practices of large-scale food preparations, quantity cooking, and food portion control
  • Principles of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • General principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation
  • Exceptionally high standards in food quality, safety and possess an eye for detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and recipe management software
